MediShield Life started since 1st Nov 2015. And this evening 7-9pm, I’m happy to be able to do my part, to provide free consultation at Thomson Community Centre, to residents in the Thomson Areas. In fact, most CCs are running this activity on a weekly basis. You could drop by to get some advice in your own area.
Anyway, most of us would have received this little green booklet since months ago.
Would just like to summarize the whole book into 7 pointers:
1. All Singaporeans and Permanent Residents will be automatically covered starting 1st Nov 2015.
2. Annual Claim Limit will be increased from $70,000 to $100,000. No Lifetime Limit. And MediShield Life will not have a maximum age limit. Ie “For All. For Life.”
3. All Singapore Citizens will be granted Transitional Subsidies for the net increase in MediShield Life premiums. From 90/70/40/20% in the 1st/2nd/3rd/4th Year respectively.
4. A lot of subsidies are going into the Pioneer Generation Members. And basically PGs will be paying even lesser for MediShield Life than what they were paying previously for MediShield.
5. There is NO duplication of coverage with an Integrated Shield Plan (IP). An IP consists of MediShield Life combined with a Private Health Insurance.
6. Private Health Insurance refers to IPs offered currently by AIA, Aviva, Great Eastern, NTUC Income and Prudential.
7. There is NO double payment of MediShield Life Premium.
